Hitachi Chemical Names Borneo Technical As Malaysia Battery Distributor

KUALA LUMPUR, May 22 (Bernama) -- Hitachi Chemical Asia-Pacific Pte Ltd has appointed Borneo Technical Co (M) Sdn Bhd as the distributor for its automotive battery products nationwide. Its Managing Director Shigeru Fujita said Malaysia, with more than 20 million vehicles, is one of the largest markets for motor vehicles in the ASEAN region. "Borneo Technical has tremendous local market knowledge, experience and an extensive dealer network to support our products," he said in a statement Thursday. Borneo Technical President Takuya Hirano said the company is committed to the successful roll-out of the Hitachi range of automotive batteries, with plans in place to ensure sustainability of it sales moving forward. The range of Hitachi car batteries is available at more than 5,000 dealers nationwide including east Malaysian states, Sabah and Sarawak. The MFX series battery is priced from US$97.36 (RM350) each, while the ES series starts from US$69.54 (RM250). The batteries are manufactured by the Hitachi Chemical Group's factories in Japan and Thailand. --BERNAMA
