Honda N-Box Top-Selling Car for 23rd Month in Row

Tokyo, Aug. 6 (Jiji Press)--Honda Motor Co.'s <7267> N-Box minivehicle topped Japan's new vehicle sales rankings for the 23rd consecutive month in July, industry data showed Tuesday. Sales of the N-Box totaled 24,049 units, up 22.3 pct from a year before. The top three were minivehicles with engine displacements of up to 660 cc. Ranked second was Nissan Motor Co.'s <7201> Dayz, with sales of 14,801 units, up 26.5 pct. Daihatsu Motor Co.'s Tanto, which was fully remodeled in July, climbed to the third position from the fourth in June, with sales of 14,520 units, up 35.6 pct. Toyota Motor Corp.'s <7203> Prius hybrid came in fourth, with sales of 13,137 units, up 34.1 pct. The sales rankings were based on data from the Japan Automobile Dealers Association and the Japan Light Motor Vehicle and Motorcycle Association. END
