Hong Kong Exchange Delegation Visits Qatar Stock Exchange

Doha, September 17 (QNA) - A delegation from Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited, headed by James Fok, head of group strategy, on Wednesday visited Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) and met with CEO Rashid bin Ali Al Mansoori and a number of departmental directors. During the visit, Fok was briefed on some developments at QSE and made a presentation on available investment opportunities in the Chinese stock market. Al-Mansoori welcomed the visiting delegation and stressed QSE's interest in strengthening relationships and cooperation and exchanging experiences with various global stock markets, with the desire to establish an ongoing and positive dialogue with industry participants from around the world. "We are looking forward to establishing a fruitful relationship and in cooperating with Hong Kong Stock Exchange and other global exchanges in order to benefit from their experience, with the aim of providing the best possible services to investors in the stock market of Qatar," Al-Mansoori said. For his part, Fok expressed his satisfaction with the visit and said: "I was impressed with the growth achieved by QSE, especially since Qatar and China share similar successes with their growth and development strategies." He provided a briefing on the stock markets in China and the importance of strengthening Qatari-Chinese relations with the aim of promoting capital market advancement in both countries, especially in light of China's developments, the steady growth of the Chinese and Qatari economies and the growth of Qatari investments abroad. "This visit was an opportunity for an important and useful exchange of ideas and experiences in order to further develop our products such as ETFs, indices and futures," Fok added. (QNA)
