Huawei “open lab” is opened in Bangkok

BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) -- Huawei Technologies’ “open lab” is opened in Bangkok for Thai small and medium-sized enterprises and tech startups. The Bt-350-million facility is a part of Thailand’s collaboration with the Chinese tech giant on digital development under the government’s Thailand 4.0 campaign. Deputy Prime Minister Somkid Jatusripitak presided over the opening ceremony on Thursday. The new lab came after Huawei established its regional headquarters in Thailand a year ago. Huawei’s RHQ at GPF Wireless Towers on Wireless Road and its new lab will help the government driving the digital industry here. David Sun, president and chief executive officer of Huawei Southeast Asia, said Huawei’s presence was to provide full support to help Thailand reach its full digital potential. The development of Thailand’s digital economy has been pushed forward to achieve an objective to become the region’s ICT hub. Thai entrepreneurs can experience global innovative, state-of-the-art labs and build ICT solutions and applications. (TNA)
