Icelandic Students Visit Aras Free Zone

Tabriz, May 18, IRNA -- A 21-member group of Icelandic geography and tourism students visited the historical and natural sites of Aras Free Trade Zone. Deputy head of Aras Trade and Industrial Free Trade Zone Organization for cultural, social and tourism affairs, Bahram Sarmast said that the students visited historical churches in Aras, Geopark Museum, Asiyab Kharabeh Cascade and Village of Oshtbin. Referring to the ecotourism capabilities of Aras Free Trade Zone, he said the groupˈ trip to the region is to get acquainted with geological phenomenon, indigenous culture and local traditions of the area. The official also announced plans to devise up appropriate programs to develop tourism, especially nature tourism, in the region. Aras Free Trade Zone with over 20 natural and historical attractions as well as five tourism attractions hosts various groups of the Iranian and foreign students each year./end
