IKCO To Produce Renault Clio In Iran

Tehran, July 20, IRNA - Iranˈs car manufacturer, Iran Khodro Co (IKCO) and the French Renault have agreed to produce Clio type 3 and 4 in Iran in near future, an IKCO official said Saturday. Deputy head of IKCO for strategy and planning affairs Hamid-Reza Taqavinejad said Renault is considered as the main strategic partner for Iran. He noted that the French company has made huge investments in Iran and cooperates in several fields with IKCO. The Clio is a supermini car, produced by the French automobile manufacturer Renault. Originally launched in 1990, it is currently in its fourth generation as of 2012. The Clio has seen commercial success, being consistently one of Europeˈs top-selling cars since its launch. The Clio is one of the two cars, the other being the Volkswagen Golf, to have been elected European Car of the Year twice, in 1991 and in 2006./end
