Ilam, Kut, Numaniyah become sister cities

Ilam, Dec 14, IRNA – Mayors of three Iranian and Iraqi cities on Wednesday signed Memorandum of Understanding for sisterhood of the three cities. Ilam's Mayor Mennat Mohammadi said that joint meeting of mayors of cities of Ilam, Kut and an-Numaniyah was held with aim to share experiences in the field of urban development and services and signing MoU on sisterhood. Mohammadi said that Ilam province is ready for joint venture investment, especially for production and recycling of organic materials as well as urban tourism with the private sector of the two Iraqi cities. Mayor of Kut, capital of Wasit province in Iraq, Jalil Muhammad said in the meeting that considering cultural affinities and good economic relations between Ilam and Wasit provinces, there exist longstanding interest and common grounds for using capabilities of Ilam in the field of urban services. Mayors of cities of Ilam, Kut and an-Numaniyah accompany with members of Ilam City Council visited the development projects underway in the city including the service sector projects and the cultural sites. Kut and an-Numaniyah are cities of Wasit province of Iraq on neighborhood of Iranian western province of Ilam. Ilam province has 430 kilometers common border with Iraq and is neighboring three Iraqi provinces. 1378/IRNA
