India, Eurasian Economic Union to begin free trade talks in January - minister

MOSCOW, November 17. /TASS/. Negotiations on a free trade zone between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and India will begin in mid-January 2018 in India, Indian Trade Minister Suresh Prabhu told reporters on Thursday. "I am happy to announce that the free trade agreement talks between the Eurasian Union and India will start at the second or third week of January in India," he said. The Eurasian Economic Union and India signed a deal to start negotiations on a future free trade zone agreement during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum in June. The EAEU is an international economic union of Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Armenia and Kyrgyzstan. The Union started its work on January 1, 2015. Read more
