India Pays Part Of Oil Debt To Iran: NIOC Official

Tehran, March 5, IRNA -- India deposited part of debt to bank account of Central Bank of Iran in New Delhi, head of international department of the National Iranian Oil Company Mohsen Qamsari said on Tuesday. He said 45 percent of the money had been deposited in Indian rupees and 55 percent in euros. Indian officials said late last month that they were ready to pay dlrs 1.5 billion to clear part of a backlog of payments, following the partial easing of the Western sanctions on Tehran.
