Indices down in November

ANKARA (A.A) - November 24, 2011 - Confidence indices for services, retail trade and construction decreased in November 2011. TurkStat stated on Thursday that confidence indices for services, retail trade and construction sectors decreased 3.7 percent, 4 percent and 2.7 percent respectively over the previous month in November 2011.  The confidence index, which was 104.9 for services, 103 for retail trade and 85.7 for construction in October 2011, became 101, 98.9 and 83.4 respectively in November 2011. The decrease in the services confidence index stemmed from the deterioration in business situation over the past 3 months, demand (turnover) over the past 3 months and next 3 months, the decrease in the retail trade confidence index stemmed from the deterioration in current volume of stock and business activity (sales) over the next 3 months. The decrease in the construction confidence index stemmed from the deterioration in current overall order books and total employment over the next 3 months.
