Innate Synergy Aims To Penetrate Myanmarese Mart

BUTTERWORTH, (Penang, Malaysia) April 28 (Bernama) -- Innate Synergy Sdn Bhd, a petroleum product trader for commercial and industrial use, is eyeing to penetrate the Myanmarese market following the completion of its bitumen depot in Prai. Its managing director, Abdul Malik Samat, said the group will make good use of its strategic location in Prai bulk cargo terminal to shift its products. He said Myanmar, which used the same bitumen classification as Malaysia, currently imported the bitumen from Singapore. "We have a high potential to break into the Myanmarese market as it is closer to the northern region of Malaysia and we have an international port here in Penang," he told reporters after the launch of Innate Synergy's bitumen depot by Secretary-General Ministry of Works, Zohari Akob, here Tuesday. Abdul Malik said as Malaysia moved to become a developed nation by 2020, bitumen demand will grow in line with the country's development. He said bitumen demand locally was expect to increase annually as it was mostly use to build roads. "Our clients are mostly pre-mix plant operators and quarries throughout Peninsular Malaysia, mainly in the northern region," he said. He said the new bitumen depot will become a one-stop bitumen hub in this region as it will serve to meet the domestic and regional demand. "The depot started operations on April 21 last year and has a storage capacity of 12,000 metric tonnes," he said. He said a comprehensive and up-to-date bitumen laboratory in the depot was capable of performing tests according to American Society of Testing and Material standard. -- BERNAMA
