Insurance Comparison Site Gobear Sets Foot In Malaysia

PETALING JAYA (Selangor, Malaysia), May 6 (Bernama) -- GoBear, Asia's metasearch engine for insurance and financial products, which is now available in Malaysia, will continue to enhance the seamless user experience with search, filter and insurance quotes. Chief Executive Officer Andre Hesselink said GoBear Malaysia's site, which features travel insurance and credits cards, would be expanded into the card insurance and personal loan categories in the third quarter of this year. "Together with a team of Malaysian specialists, we will continue to enhance the GoBear platform. We are very focused and will try our very best to serve customers in each of our key markets," he told reporters after launching GoBear here Thursday. Meanwhile, Malaysia GoBear country director Iskandar Ezzahuddin said the platform was originated from the idea that people wanted easy access to service information and customers should be able to compare various financial products easily before making a decision. "This is where GoBear steps in to provide a new experience that makes searching for financial products quickly, easily and transparently," he said. He said today's insurance buyers were mobile first, multi-screen and social media-savvy and in order to reach them, insurance companies would need to employ an increasing emphasis on simplicity in search. Headquartered in Singapore since early 2015, GoBear has established presence in Thailand besides Malaysia and would continue to expand across Southeast Asia in 2016. Combining Singapore and Thailand, GoBear currently offers more than 1,000 financial products for its users, with more than 95 per cent of the Singapore market covered for its health, travel insurance, and credit card categories. --BERNAMA
