Int'l Houseware Fair held in Bangkok

BANGKOK, April 21 (TNA) - A five-day International Houseware Fair is held in Bangkok, considered a largest fair in displaying lifestyle products in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). Permanent Secretary for Commerce Srirat Rastapana told journalists that, despite current domestic political problems, the "BIG+BIH April 2014" fair is jointly organised by her ministry and the private sector at Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre (BITEC) from April 19-23, aimed to reaffirm Thailand’s status as a leading country for lifestyle products and designs Srirat said 1,146 booths were set up at the fair by 418 local and foreign firms, along with works prepared by 40 designers from ASEAN member countries, as well as the 10-nation bloc's dialogue partners, including China, Taiwan, Japan and South Korea. According to the senior official, business discussions were held during the first three days of the fair, while it is estimated that trade value of the fair should totally reach at least one billion baht.
