Int'l tourists welcome to "Color Moon Festival 2019" in Thai South

SURAT THANI, THAILAND, April 25 (TNA) - The "Color Moon Festival 2019" now welcomes international visitors to its venue on Koh Pha-ngan in Thailand's southern resort Surat Thani Province. The state-run Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the Koh Pha-ngan Hotel and Tourism Association jointly organize the Color Moon Festival 2019 under the theme of "Wellness Destination", with a hope to attract a number of international tourists and to generate tourist-related revenues of about 15 billion baht, similar to last year. TAT Deputy Governor for Domestic Marketing Noppadon Pakprot and local community leaders on Thursday inaugurated the festival on the Pha-ngan Island, where the globally-renowned "full moon party" is also organized annually. Noppadon said TAT and its public and private partners hope that the "Color Moon Festival 2019" should draw in more groups of international visitors to Koh Pha-ngan, including those of teenagers, families, honeymoon couples and working people, to enjoy such activities as the demonstration and sale of local food products and souvenirs, shows of traditional Thai boxing styles and "Yoga under the moon" for good health, and music concerts, as well as art and other performances. "Koh Pha-ngan has maintained its pristine and charming natural beauty, plus nice traditional life styles of local fishing villagers, which have attracted rising international tourists, by about 10 per cent over the past two years", acknowledged the TAT deputy governor.
