Investment In Lampung Reaches Rp3.4 Tln

Bandarlampung, Lampung, Dec 26 (ANTARA) - The Lampung provincial government approved investment proposals worth Rp3.49 trillion this year compared to Rp2.289 trillion last year. "The significant increase in investment suggests that Lampung is a good investment destination," Lampung Governor MS Joko Umar Said said at a year-end meeting here on Wednesday. He attributed the increased investment to the province`s effort to reform licencing standardization including providing investors with facilities to set up new factories in the province. Investors now only need a relatively short time to obtain licences, he said. "The Lampung provincial government is making a constant effort to boost investment climate," he said. He also said key commodities including coffee, fruits, fish and shrimp contributed significantly to the province`s exports in the third quarter of 2012, with US$3.061 million. Meanwhile, imports were valued at US@,60 million this year. As of September 30, 2012 the province recorded a trade surplus of US$457.5 billion compared to US$430.9 million last year.
