Investors Interested To Build Bandung Transportation Infrastructures

Bandung, W Java, July 15 (Antara) - Investors are very interested in building modern transportation infrastructures in Bandung, the elected Mayor of Bandung Municipality Ridwan Kamil said here on Sunday. "The private sectors` interest to contribute to infrastructure development in Bandung is very high, as shown by investors` enthusiasm on the construction of a monorail project," he said. Kamil said currently for the construction of monorail there are three interested investors, including a foreign one. He added that based on the consultation session with the State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan there will be two monorails to construct which are the Bandung Municipality level and West Java Provincial level. "This is no more just a discourse, the central govt support is great, we just need to make Bandung ready as example for the location, stations and hopefully in the next three years it will be sorted out," the Mayor said. The Bandung Municipality monorail construction plan is to be built across the region, which is from Cimahi to Jatinangor, Soekarno Hatta and the west side of Cicaheum lane. "We also could learn from State Enterprises Minister programmes, which include the monorail project in Jakarta airport that is to be completed next year as a sample for the Bandung construction plan," he added. Kamil said the construction of monorail will be combined with other projects as a form of transport ecosystem development in Bandung. "Such as the construction of bicycle stops, so when the passengers get off the bus they will have option whether to ride public transportation, bicycle or others," he said.
