Investors Interested In Developing Morotai Mining Sector

Ternate, North Maluku, March 14 (Antara) - A number of investors have expressed interest in developing the mining sector in Morotai Island District, North Maluku, District Head Rusli Sibua said here on Thursday. "Morotai is located in a strategic position and therefore investors from China, Japan, and the Philippines are interested in investing in mining sector in the district," Rusli noted. He said the local government in principle would welcome all investors who would like to make Morotai an investment area in East Indonesia, particularly North Maluku province. According to him, the local government would support the investors in making feasibility study on mining sector before investing in the district. "The investors will cooperate with two other Chinese and Japanese investors who have operated in mining sector in Morotai," he said.
