Iranˈs Delivery By Upstream Oil Sector Grows

Tehran, Sept 13, IRNA - The Iranian upstream oil sector has delivered 71.2b cubic meters of gas to gas refining companies during March 21-August 22, 2014. Mehdi Jamshidi-Dana, a director of National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), added that the figure indicates a 15-percent growth compared with the corresponding figure of the previous year, which was 61.91 bcm. Jamshidi-Dana noted that the main reason for the rise in gas delivery pertains to speedy completion of repairs in Fajr-e Jam Refinery, Sarkhoun and Qeshm Gas Refinery and Ilam Refinery five, three and four days ahead of schedule respectively. Jamshidi-Dana said that repairs of the refineries of phases 1, 4 and 5 of the South Pars (SP) Gas Field in Bushehr province were also carried out 20 and 12 days ahead of schedule respectively, which boosted gas supply. The NIGC director noted that 50 percent of the increase pertain to launching SP phases 12, 15 and 16. He said that his directorate supervised the project of increasing the Fifth National Pipeline’s gas delivery to Fajr-e Jam and Bidboland refineries.
