Iranˈs Foreign Trade Exceeds $19b

Rasht, Gilan Prov, July 8, IRNA – The country's foreign trade exceeded $19b in the first three months of the current Iranian year, Deputy Director of Trade Development Organization, Kiumars Kermanshahi said on Sunday. Kermanshahi said that non-oil exports stood at $9.8b and imports amounted to $9.4b. Non-oil exports showed a rise of 1.7percent compared to the same period last year and the country's total foreign trade has fallen by 26 percent, Kermanshahi said. He said that the fall in the countryˈs foreign trade was due to the sanctions, adding that the fall will be compensated in the next months, in light of the countryˈs high capabilities. He cited guidelines of the Supreme Leader to get national economy rid of dependence on oil revenues, he said that management of imports and supporting the manufacture sector to produce export-based goods are among main goals of the Trade Development Organization./end
