Iranˈs Gas Exports Hit $3.5b

Tehran, April 20, IRNA - Managing director of the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) Javad Owji said here Friday that the country has exported over 8.4 billion cubic meters of gas, worth $3.5 billion, during last Iranian year (ended March 20). Speaking to IRNA, Owji made the remarks on the sideline of the 18th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition currently underway in Tehran. He noted that during the same period, over 4.5 billion cubic meters of gas, worth 1.8 million euro, had been imported to the country. Owji stressed that the volume of Iranˈs gas imports last year was 50 percent lower than its correspondent figures in its two previous years./end
