Iranˈs PGP Starts Building New Petrochemical Plants In Chabahar

Tehran, April 5, IRNA --The executive manager of the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industrial Company said that the company has started building two petrochemical plants in Iranian Chabahar Port. Adel Nejad Salim said Friday that after the completion of both the plants, which are being designed for full-capacity production and operation, and implementation of similar projects in the coming years, Iran will become the regionˈs major petrochemical hub, the petroenergy news network SHANA said on Saturday. ˈThe Persian Gulf Petrochemical Holding has long-term plans to expand the range and variety of its productions,ˈ said Nejad Salim. Earlier, the official had told Shana that the Persian Gulf Petrochemical Holding enjoys 10% of Iranˈs investment market as well as 40% of the countryˈs petrochemical productions. He also predicted that the current Iranian calendar year 1393 (which started on March 21) will herald a period of gigantic growth for petrochemical industries for Iran. The official also expressed hope that expansion of the petrochemical industries in Iran will be a step forward towards materialization of the countryˈs economy of resistance agenda./end
