Iran’s Minister of Communication discussed free trade zone agreement with Eurasian Economic Union - EAEC press service

MOSCOW, July 27. /TASS/. Minister of Trade of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EAEC) Veronika Nikishina and Iran’s Minister of Communication and IT Mahmoud Vaezi discussed the progress in preparation for talks on the free trade zone between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) on a number of commodities, representative of EAEC press service told TASS on Wednesday. "The progress in work of the joint research group studying the feasibility of executing a comprehensive free trade zone agreement between the EAEU and Iran was discussed along with the progress in consultations on making a temporary free trade zone agreement on a limited range of products," the source said. Russia and Iran initiated informal consultations on the free trade zone in mid-May. Decisions to start negotiations on a relevant agreement may be taken on the basis of results of joint research and consultations held between two parties, the EAEC said earlier. Read more
