Iran, Afghanistan, Pakistan to augment border trade

Zahedan, Sistan-Baluchestan province, April 6, IRNA -- Iran, Afghanistan and Pakistan have decided to increase border trade, Governor-General of Iranˈs Sistan-Baluchestan province Ali Awsat Hashemi said on Saturday. He told reporters that there are potentials for the establishment of two new free trade zones in the Southeastern province of Sistan-Baluchestan. ˈIran aims to develop cooperation with the neighboring countries including Pakistan and Afghanistan to enhance investment and trade in the border areas.ˈ Hashemi pointed to a joint commission that has been established by the governors general of Iranˈs Sistan-Baluchestan province, Pakistanˈs Balochistan Province and Afghanistanˈs Nimruz and Farah provinces. He said that the commission would continue its efforts to improve the economic situation of the people living in the border areas.
