Iran-Afghanistan Transportation Officials Meet At Doqaroon Border

Mashhad, June 10, IRNA - Transportation officials of Iran and Afghanistan had a border meeting at Doqaroon International Boarder Sunday in presence of IRI deputy roads and rural development minister and Afghanistanˈs deputy transportation and aviation minister. The Islamic Republic's Deputy Roads and Rural Development Minister and Head of Ministryˈs Road Keeping and Road Transportation Office Shahriar Afandizadeh, speaking about the meeting said, ˈThis meeting is convened to pursue the implementation of the ratifications at the 4th Committee on Iran-Afghanistan Cooperation in Transportation in International Roads, which was held earlier this year in Kabul.ˈ Afandizadeh referred to the satisfactory agreements reached at Kabul meeting, adding, ˈIncreasing the capacity of goods transit thru the border terminals, increasing the exports, decreasing the cost and time of passing thru the terminals, solving the existing problems at border terminals, expansion of trilateral relations among India, Iran and Afghanistan, and membership of Afghanistan in the Pentalateral Conference of Iran, Turkmenistan, Oman, Qatar, and Uzbekistan are among those agreements.ˈ/end
