Iran after reproducing purebred Persian horse

TEHRAN, Feb. 11 (MNA) – President of Veterinary Council I.R. of Iran (IRVC) said efforts were being made to breed thoroughbred Iranian horse. Speaking on the sidelines of the 4th International Congress of Large Animal Practitioners (ICLAP 2017) in Tehran, Mohammad Reza Safari said in the latest edition of the Veterinary Medicine reference book, which is taught in veterinary universities across the globe, a total 120 articles by Iranian scientist have been cited, a figure which it unprecedented. “ICLAP 2017 presented the latest issued raised in the case of FMD, livestock lameness, horse breeding industry, dairy herd management and new diseases in large animals,” he continued. Touching upon health issues of Iranian horses for participation in international racing competitions, Safari stated “due to serious problems in this area, the horse breeding industry and the latest health issues are being pursued in a bid to nurture purebred Iranian horsed, including Turkmen horse which has remained neglected, in line with the newest veterinary principles. On establishment of state-of-the-art standards in livestock farms by specialized veterinarians, IRVC head explained “until two years ago, a foreign manufacturer of coffee and food products for children in Iran would import its required powdered milk while since then, Iranian livestock farms have been selling 200 to 250 tons of milk per day to the foreign factory thanks to modifications in farm structures and implementation of technical measures. The 4th International Congress of Large Animal Practitioners (ICLAP 2017) was be held by Veterinary Council I.R. of Iran as Organizer on February 8 - 9 , 2017 in Tehran, Iran. This Congress is held as a biennial event in Iran and covered several topics including obstetrics and reproductive diseases, internal medicine, udder health and related diseases, lameness and locomotor disorders as well as surgery.
