Algiers, Dec 1, IRNA – Iran's ambassador to Algeria said Saturday that Tehran and Algiers will accelerate promotion of bilateral cooperation, in the economic fields in particular. Mahmoud Mahmoudi told IRNA that the two countries are to hold second session of joint high commission in Algiers during which ways to foster cooperation in the fields of housing and water will be reviewed. On the existing diplomatic relations between Iran and Algeria, he said the two enjoy a good level of cooperation in both international and bilateral issues. He added the Algerian officials have expressed their support for Iran's right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy. Algeria, he said, also supports the oppressed Palestinians and has no diplomatic relations with the regime occupying the Palestinian lands. On the latest developments in Syria, Mahmoudi said Algeria shares identical views with Iran regarding foreign meddling in the internal affairs of Syria./end
