Iran-Azerbaijan Call For Expansion Of Economic Ties

Tehran, Feb 5, IRNA – Azeri Ambassador to Tehran Javanshir Akhundov and co-chairman of Iran-Azerbaijan parliamentary friendship group, Ramezanali Sobhanifar on Tuesday called for expansion of economic relations. Sobhanifar told Akhundov that abundant cultural, historical and religious commonalities have provided a suitable ground for expansion of bilateral political and economic relations. He said that Iran’s parliamentary friendship group always call for upgrading ties in various domains, in the parliamentary field in particular. He said that planning must be made for implementation of the agreements already signed between the two countries. He called for partnership of the private sector from both sides for mutual investment. The MP cautioned against cases which would let enemies of the two nations to create negative mentality on bilateral relations. Akhundov in turn said exchange of delegations will be necessary for further expansion of the ties. The ambassador called for constant talks between Azeri and Iranian political and parliamentary officials to boost mutual cooperation. He said the Azeri speaker will soon visit Tehran to attend the meeting of the speakers of parliament of Muslim countries./end
