Baku, May 15, IRNA – Deputy Economy and Finance Minister and Head of Iranian Tax Organization Ali Asgari and Azerbaijan Republic Tax Minister Fazel Mohammadov exchanged views on ways to boosting the two neighboring countriesˈ economic ties. In the meeting in the presence of Iran's Ambassador to Baku Mohsen Pakaˈien, Mohammadov referred to the broad bilateral relations and vast-scale comprehensive Tehran-Baku cooperation, called for further boosting exchange of experience in fields of mutual interest. He added, ˈKeeping in mind the broad spectrum of economic cooperation and the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on bilateral banning of double taxation would encourage the investors on both countries to have a broader presence in bilateral economic transaction.ˈ Focusing on the Islamic Republic of Iranˈs plans and programs for taxation, he said, ˈPutting the private sector in charge of a part of tax collection in Iran has led to positive results in our country, and we can share our experience in that regard with our brother country, the Azerbaijan Republic.ˈ Azerbaijan has an embassy in Tehran and a consulate-general in Tabriz.
