Iran, Belarus Discuss Promotion Of Ties

Tehran, Oct 28, IRNA – Officials from Iran and Belarus on Monday explored ways to expand bilateral relations. Deputy Foreign Minister for Asia-Pacific and Commonwealth Affairs Ebrahim Rahimpour, who is on a visit to Belarus at the head of a high-ranking delegation, held negotiations with Belarus Foreign Minister Vladimir Makei and other Belarus officials on issues of mutual interest. In the meeting with the foreign minister of Belarus, Rahimpour expressed satisfaction with the current level of bilateral relations, saying the outlook for Tehran-Minsk cooperation in the future is promising. The Belarusian foreign minister, for his part, called for enhanced economic relations between the two countries, saying the government of Minsk attaches special significance to relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. Meanwhile, Rahimpour held a meeting with the deputy minister of industries of Belarus. The meeting, which was held in presence of representatives of Iranian companies active in Belarus, centered on ways to facilitate economic cooperation and investment between the two countries. /end
