Iran To Broaden All-out Ties With Tunisia: Official

Tunisia, July 17, IRNA – Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade and Director of Iran's Trade Promotion Organization Hamid Safdel said on Monday that Tehran attaches importance to expansion of relations and cooperation with Islamic states, Tunisia in particular. He made the remarks in the opening session of working group of 11th Iran-Tunisia Economic Cooperation Commission on Monday. Congratulating the victory of Tunisian revolution, he said Tunisia plays a very remarkable role in North Africa as a Muslim and revolutionary state, he said. Referring to Iran’s strategic status in the region and the world, he said the two revolutionary countries have many privileges and characteristic as Muslim and revolutionary states and their significant role in regional and global developments. Grounds for expansion of relations and cooperation between the two sides’ private sectors and state run organizations are well prepared, he pointed out. Active presence of Iranian and Tunisian firms in such meetings show the firm determination of both countries to broaden cooperation, he said. He called for removal of obstacles to this effect and called for expansion of cooperation in various fields. The eleventh Iran-Tunisia Joint Economic Commission meeting kicked off in Tunis Monday morning. Expert level session will continue till Wednesday and the final documents will be inked by both sides’ officials on Thursday./end
