Iran Calls For Enhanced Economic, Commercial Ties With Slovenia

Tehran, May 12, IRNA – Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade Mohammad Reza Nematzadeh on Sunday called for enhanced economic and trade cooperation with Slovenia. In a meeting with visiting Slovenian Parliament Speaker Yanku Webber, he said that interaction between the two countries in recent years is proportionate to their potentials in view of certain limitations. ˈEconomic capacities and capabilities can alongside political ties help promote commercial relations,ˈ he said. He further noted that holding specialized exhibitions will prepare the ground for the two countriesˈ economic activists to get acquainted with the potentials and capacities. Referring to Iranˈs industrial and mineral capacities, he underlined the need to promote cooperation in different industries including auto-making, tool manufacturing and electrical motorcycles. Webber, for his part, welcomed expansion of cooperation between Iran and Slovenia, saying that his country favors promoting ties with the Islamic Republic of Iran in view of its rich resources and industrial capabilities. Due to certain political limitations, the level of ties declined, he said, hoping that they would reach its zenith again. He hoped that his country would have suitable cooperation in various industries including motorcycles, auto-making equipment and industrial machinery./end
