Iran, China agree on facilitating trade, mutual investments

Tehran, IRNA – Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Iran (CBI) Asghar Abolhasani Hastiani said on Tuesday that Iran and China have made agreements to facilitate bilateral trade and mutual investment. He said that in the last night meeting of a CBI financial and banking delegation with visiting Chinese financial officials, the two sides stressed the need for expansion of cooperation, enhancement of financial and banking mechanisms, upgrading economic relations and giving a boost to bilateral relations. Both the Iranian and Chinese sides also underlined the significance of finalizing the necessary financial and banking mechanisms to prepare the ground for implementing a strategic cooperation agreement between Tehran and Beijing and made some agreements in this regard. They also agreed to facilitate banking issues of businesspeople of both sides as well as Iranians residing in China. The two delegations highlighted the need for continued cooperation and negotiations on facilitating trade exchanges, and making mutual investments in different industrial, rail transportation, scientific, technological and agricultural areas.
