Iran-China Underline Expansion Of Commercial Co-op

Tehran, May 7, IRNA – Chinese ambassador to Iran Yuhang Yang on Monday held talks with Managing director of Qeshm Trade Zone on ways on to develop commercial cooperation between the zone and China. Managing director of Qeshm Trade Zone Esfandiar Heidaripour said that Qeshm Free Trade Zone has 20 years history and recalled various capabilities of the biggest Persian Gulfˈs island in the fields of commerce, marine transport, oil and gas as well as energy. Qeshmˈs location in Hormuz Strait, one of the most strategic points in the world and considered entrance to Persian Gulf, has given the island a significant status for loading and unloading goods. Commenting on the significance of Qeshm island in economic terms, Heidaripour noted that Qeshm International Airport, Kaveh Port, Persian Gulf Bridge which has connected the island to North-South Corridor demonstrate significance of the region. He urged the Chinese envoy, Yuhang Yang, to help prepare the ground for cooperation between a Chinese geopark and Qeshm Geopark. Yang, for his part, said that such cooperation will pave the way for extensive cooperation in all fields./end
