Iran Currently Exchanging 12.3GW Electricity With Neighboring States

Tabriz, E.Azarbaijan Prov., Dec 16, IRNA – Managing Director of Iran Power Generation, Transmission & Distribution Company (TAVANIR), Homayoun Ha'eri, said on Saturday that Iran is now busy exchanging 12.3 gigawatts of electricity with its neighboring countries. Addressing a seminar on power industry and university in Tabriz on Saturday, Haeri said Iran's cooperation with itsd neighbors in the sector has expanded this year compared to last year and there are plans to further enhance energy exchange with the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea littoral states that share maritime border with Iran. Noting that Iran has a high status worldwide in terms of power generation, Haeri said per capita electricity generation in Iran is 900 watts while the figure is 190 watts in Asia./end
