Iran Currently Implementing Over 163 Contracts In Tajikistan : Envoy

Dushanbe, April 27, IRNA – Iran is currently implementing over 163 contracts with 150 Iranian companies involved in executive works in Tajikistan, Iranian Ambassador to Dushanbe Ali Asghar Sherdoust said on Saturday. The ambassador said that more than 163 cooperation deals in various areas have already been signed between Iran and Tajikistan and over 150 Iranian companies are busy implementing the projects in Tajikistan, indicating cordial ties between the two nations Addressing a two-day ceremony marking 40th founding anniversary of the Tajikistanˈs Islamic Movement Party, Ali Asghar Sherdoust said that numerous common grounds such as language, culture, history and religion have contributed a lot to the closer ties. Iran was the first country which recognized Tajikistanˈs independence in 1991, he noted, ˈNow we believe that we have the most cordial ties with the country sharing the same language and religion.ˈ Iran plans to undertake big projects in the country, in addition to the projects underway, Sherdoust said. Describing Islamic Movement as one of the main parties in Tajikistan, he said that it enjoys special status among the Tajik people. Some 20 foreign guests from Iran,, Turkey, Russia, US, Germany, Britain, Tunisia, UAE, Afghanistan and Pakistan are participating in the event which will work for two days./end
