Iran Enjoys Mideast Largest Fuel Transportation Fleet : Official

Tehran, June 30, IRNA – A senior official in National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said Iran enjoys the biggest fuel transportation fleet in the Middle East region. Abbas Filsaraie told IRNA on Monday that the average age of the Iranian road oil tankers is approximately the same as the European standard. Noting that Iran uses pipes, oil tankers, oil wagons and ships to transport fuel, he said about 10 thousand oil tankers are engaged in the business of transporting oil by roads. According to the official, the Iranian road fuel fleet transported about 87 billion liters of fuel all across the country during the past Iranian year (ended March 20, 2014). Filsaraie further said that eight billion liters of fuel were also transported by 7 oil tankers in the seas during the same period./end
