Iran Enjoys Potentials To Promote Petrochem Industry

Tehran, Aug 3, IRNA – Senior official at the National Petrochemical Company (NPC) said Iran enjoyed worldˈs highest capacity to promote its petrochemical industries having over 30,000 affiliated units. NPC Vice President Mohammad Hassan Peyvandi said, ˈNo world country has as much raw materials, experienced manpower, engineering services, proximity to international and regional markets as does Iran.ˈ Noting that Iranˈs petrochemical industries spent only five percent of the countryˈs oil and gas resources, Peyvandi said but they produce 40-45 million tons of petrochemical products using that small amount of fuel reserves. The official added that Iranˈs petrochemical industries constituted over 40 percent of the non-oil exports. He said Iranˈs auto-making, aerospace and medical industries were among many domestic units dependent on petrochemical products./end
