Iran Envoy Calls For Expansion Of Economic Ties With Turkey

Ankara, Feb 17, IRNA – Iranian Ambassador to Ankara Bahman Hosseinpour called for expansion of economic ties between the two countries. The outgoing ambassador made the remarks while addressing a group of Iranian businessmen and students residing in Turkey. On Iran-Turkey close relations, he said the volume of the two countries transactions reached $23 billion in 2012. Hosseinpour said Tehran and Ankara enjoy amicable ties in political, cultural, artistic and social arenas. Citing Iran and Turkey as two powerful regional countries, he said consolidation of solidarity and unity between the two nations would help resolve the existing problems in the region./end
