Iran Exclusive Trade Exhibit underway in Italy

Rome, Nov 22, IRNA – Iran Exclusive Exhibition was inaugurated in Rome International Fairground on Tuesday in a ceremony attended by Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Reza Ne'matzadeh and Italian Minister of Economic Development Carlo Calenda. Over 110 Iranian companies are participating in the event which will work until November 26. They are slated to hold talks with 200 Italian companies interested to carry out joint venture investment projects in Iran. Ne'matzadeh told the inaugural ceremony that the exhibition is the first of its kind in Europe in recent years, demonstrating only a glimpse of Iran's industrial, engineering and commercial capabilities. One of policies of Economy of Resistance is promoting non-oil exports, he said, noting that fortunately, level of commercial ties with Italy has been increasing in post-sanctions era. Nematzadeh expressed pleasure with resumption of commercial ties with Italy, saying that several Italian banks have so far resumed relations with Iran, but trade at the higher level requires regulating financial and banking ties. At the same meeting, Calenda also described Iran as very significant and major country in the region and world, saying, 'We believe Iran-Italy ties should develop.' Since relations with Iran are key to solving many regional problems, they should be strengthened further, he said. He further noted that he will visit Tehran early 2017 along with the Minister of Economy Pier Carlo Padoan to launch a financial channel to implement all projects. Holding commercial meetings between industry owners of both countries is one of the programs of the current event. 1378/IRNA
