Iran Exports 12m Tons Iron Ore To China, Iraq

Tehran, Sept 16, IRNA – Iran exported 12m tons of iron ore to China and Iraq during the past calendar year (ended March 20, 2014), an official said here Tuesday. Member of managing board of Iron Ore Producers and Exporters Association of Iran Sajjad Ghoroqi said the export was done by the Iranian private sector companies. Talking to IRNA, he said that Iranian private sector companies produced up to 14 million tons of iron ore last year about 85 percent of which was exported. According to the official, the whole amount of iron ore produced in Iran by both private sector and state-owned companies during the period stood at 24m tons of which 11 million tons was exported to China./end
