Iran Exports To Iraq Down By 5%

Shahr-e Kord, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari Prov., Sept 16, IRNA – Iran’s commercial attaché in Iraq said export of Iranian commodities to Iraq has declined by 5% since the start of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21). Making the remark in a local gathering on development of exports to Iraq here Monday, Ebrahim Mohammad Reza Zadeh said that in the last calendar year (1392) some $6 billion worth of commodities were exported from Iran to Iraq, showing a drop of 7% in comparison with preceding years. According to the official exports to Iraq within the calendar years 1383 to 1391 (2004-2012) registered a rise of 24%. Pointing to the fact that Turkey is present in about 30% of the Iraqi market, he said the recent insecurity in Iraq and presence of Daesh terrorists has caused communication problems. He stressed that Iranian manufacture companies should maintain constant presence in Iraq and register their brands./end
