Iran Exports Liquid Gas Products To 15 Countries

Tehran, April 8, IRNA – Iran exported liquid gas from the Pars Special Energy and Economic Zone to 15 Asian and European countries in the past Iranian month of Esfand (February 20-March 20, 2014), Director General of the PSEEZ Customs Department Khodadad Rahimi said on Monday. He told IRNA that during the last month of Iranian year, Iran has exported 859,248 tones of liquid gas products abroad worth 784.561 million dollars. “This amount shows a significant rise compared to the same month in the preceding year,” Rahimi added. He said that during this period, more than 1,457,153 tons of petrochemical and polymer products have been exported abroad from Assaluyeh terminals worth 1.328 billion dollars.ˈ “Countries like China, Japan, the United Arab Emirates, India, Indonesia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Turkey, Romania, Taiwan, Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Afghanistan are the main customers of Iran’s petrochemical and gas products from Assaluyeh terminals,ˈ the official noted. Iran is currently producing more than 300 million cubic meters (mcm) per day of gas from South Pars. The country, which sits on the worldˈs second largest natural gas reserves after Russia, has been trying to enhance its gas production by increasing foreign and domestic investments, especially in South Pars gas field. The South Pars gas field, divided into 28 phases, is located in the Persian Gulf on the common border between Iran and Qatar. It is estimated that the field contains 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate./end
