Iran Foreign Trade Stands At $78.151bn

Tehran, Jan 28, IRNA – Iran foreign trade reached $78.151 billion in the first 10 months of the Iranian year of 1391, Iran Customs Administration Office said on Sunday. Value of Iran non-oil exports reached $34.383 billion, down 2.9 percent, in the 10-month period and the imports being $43.768 billion in value, showing 13 percent decline. In the period under study, 64.407 million tons of non-oil commodities were exported while 32,507,000 tons goods were imported, showing two and six percent growth respectively. Wheat, worth $2.04 billion, iron and steel ingot, worth $1.881 billion, soya, worth $1.21 billion, and rice $996 million, were major imports in the period. According to the customs office, 20 percent of the imports were from the UAE, 15 percent from China, nine percent from Korea, 8.9 percent from Turkey and six percent from Switzerland. It said that $5.033 billion non-oil exports were destined to Iraq, $4.381 billion to China, $3.583 billion to the UAE, $2.286 billion to Afghanistan and $2.244 billion to India./end
