Iran gas production exceeds 650m cubic meters daily

Tehran, Jan 17, IRNA – Iran produced over 650 cubic meters of gas per day during the current year (started March 21, 2015), a senior official said. In a press conference here on Saturday, Managing Director of Iran National Gas Organization Hamidreza Araqi said the company's daily output hit 666 million cubic meters which is a record high in the history of the industry. This came as a result of the development of a number of phases in the South Pars, the official added. He also said that the price of the gas offered to domestic consumers is one-fifth of that for the foreign customers. For the first time ever, the amount of gas produced in current Iranian year exceeded the volume of consumptions, said the official. We produced an average of 637 million cubic metes of gas per day this year while the figure stood at 579 million cubic meters a day the same period last year, he added.
