Iran-Georgia Hold Joint Economic Meeting

Tbilisi, May 29, IRNA – Iran and Georgia joint economic meeting was held in the presence of President of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Kakha Baindurashvili and chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines Mohammad Nahavandian here on Monday. President of Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry welcomed the increase of Iranian tourists’ visit to the country and the export of technical services as well as the presence of Iranian investors there. The Chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Mines for his part welcomed the development of ties between the two countries. The official called visa cancellation, economic reform, decrease of administrative corruption and facilitation of custom rules and regulations in Georgia as positive, adding that joint investments in the completion of infrastructures and trade services can help the boost of the two nations’ ties. Nahavandian expressed Tehran’s readiness to export technical services to the Georgia and in the meantime, to increase investment in the country in different fields of transportation, railroad, food industry, agriculture, animal husbandry, banking and insurance. the Iranian Ambassador to Tbilisi Majid Saber for his part, asked for increase of cooperation among Iranian economic activists and the Georgian private sector activists.
