Iran, Indonesia to develop labour, social welfare co-op

Kuala Lumpur, Dec 7, IRNA – Minister of Cooperatives, Labour and Social Welfare Ali Rabiee in a meeting with Indonesian Minister of Manpower Hanif Dhakiri in Bali, Indonesia agreed on developing cooperation and exchanging experiences in employment and social welfare. Speaking on the sidelines of the 16th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting (APRM) of the International Labour Organization (ILO), Rabiee referred to Indonesia as a friend populous Muslim country with an important economy in the East Asia, urging the development of cooperation. He added that Iran and Indonesia have valuable experiences in using cooperatives to alleviate poverty and malnutrition, set up modern system of social security, develop treatment services for different sections of the society especially for deprived people, and prevent disabilities and have general social welfare. Dhakiri expressed interest in taking advantage of Iran's valuable experiences especially in development of training skills, employment, minimum wage, safety and work health. Rabiee met with Korean Minister of Employment and Labour on Tuesday and negotiated on developing cooperation in social security system, insurance coverage, entrepreneurship and dispatching Iranian work force. The 16th Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting will be underway until December 9 in Bali, Indonesia. 1378/IRNA
