Iran-Japan Discuss Ways To Expand Trade Ties

Tehran, Dec 9, IRNA – Chairman of Japans External Trade Organization (JETRO) Hiroyuki Ishige conferred on Sunday with President Hassan Rouhani's chief of staff Mohammad Nahavandian on expansion of business cooperation between the two countries. Iran attaches importance to expansion of relations with Japan, Nahavandian said, adding that the future of ties and cooperation between the two countries is very promising. Calling for promotion of trade cooperation between Iran and Japan, he said grounds are prepared for active presence of Japanese firms in energy, mining, transportation, petrochemical and tourism projects in Iran, Nahavandian said. Iran is ready to broaden relations with other countries based on mutual respect and friendship, he said. Exchange of views and high ranking delegations helps consolidate relations between the two countries, Nahavandian said. JETRO’s chairman, for his part, expressed satisfaction with growing relations between Tehran and Tokyo and said there are abundant capacities for foreign investments in Iran. Japan welcomes active participation of Iranian companies in Japanese fairs, he said. The new Iranian government has provided a new opportunity for economic interaction with the outside world, Ishige said and expressed the hope to witness further expansion of all out cooperation between the two countries in various fields./end
