Iran, Japan ink MoU on monitoring, inspection

Kuala Lumpur, Nov 19, IRNA – During the closing ceremony of the 11th World Conference of the International Ombudsman Institute (IOI) in Bangkok, Iran and Japan signed an MoU on monitoring and inspection. The MoU was sealed between Head of Iran's General Inspectorate Organization Nasser Seraj and the President of International Ombudsman Institute Stefan Holgersson. Iran and Japan have had joint cooperation in Asian Ombudsman regional Association and in IOI. Bilateral cooperation in Ombudsman activities, investigating people's complaints and both sides' aims and responsibilities are the most important articles of the MoU. Other articles of the MoU consist of exchanging information and experience in field of Ombudsman activities including those related to rules and decisions made by executive administrations in Iran and Japan, exchanging delegations and experts of both sides to participate in communities, training seminars, meetings and international conferences. Seraj had separate meetings with newly-appointed president of IOI Stefan Holgersson, President of Asian Ombudsman regional Association Javed Sadiq Malikand and the head of the Office of the Ombudsman in Thailand. 11th World Conference of the International Ombudsman Institute was held with the attendance of over 150 Ombudsman on Nov 13-19 in Bangkok. 1378/IRNA
