Iran-Kazakhstan Call For Expanding Economic Ties

Astana, Kazakhstan, May 24, IRNA – Visiting Iranian Minister of Economy and Finance Ali Tayyebnia in a meeting with his Kazakh counterpart Yerbolat Dosayev, called for promotion of economic cooperation between the two countries here on Saturday. Both sides also called for implementation of joint economic projects and construction of Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railways as soon as possible. The Kazakh minister, for his part, lauded Iranˈs significant role in the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO), and said the Islamic Republic enjoys huge oil and gas resources and has access to open seas. Dosayev also called for reinforcement of all-out ties between the two nations. Tayyebnia, heading a delegation, is currently in Astana to attend the 4th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Finance and Economy, the seventh Astana Economic Forum and the second World Anti-Crisis Conference. The Iranian minister currently holds the rotating presidency of the 4th ECO Ministerial Meeting on Finance and Economy./end
