Iran Min. Meets Bangladesh PM

Dhaka, May 18, IRNA – Visiting Iranian Minister of Industries, Mines and Trade Mahdi Ghazanfari met with Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina here late Thursday. During the meeting, the two officials called for expansion of bilateral bilateral ties and implementation of the previously reached agreements between the two countries. Ghazanfari who is currently in Dhaka to participate in the fifth Iran-Bangladesh joint economic commission session hailed Ms. Hasinaˈs active presence and participation at the Tenran Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit Meeting and her influential speech during the meeting. He also called for groups to be formed to implement the agreements reached during the Iran-Bangladesh Fifth Joint Economic Commission Session. Ghazanfari meanwhile voiced Iranˈs readiness to export technical and engineering services worth $ 330 million to Bangladesh. Bangladesh Prime Minister for her part welcomed Iranˈs proposals and called on expert teams to pursue implementation of the agreements at the earliest. Ghazanfari conveyed warm greetings of President Ahmadinejad to Bangladesh Prime Minister and expressed his condolences over the recent collapse of a building in Dhaka which killed and injured scores of people in her country./end
